World Gourmet Festival 2026 Returns to Anantara Siam Bangkok

Where borderless cuisine meets world-class culinary talent—Bangkok’s most celebrated gastronomic festival returns to Anantara Siam Bangkok this September.

Bangkok is a city you eat your way through. From the predawn broth of a riverside boat noodle stall, to the haute cuisine on tasting menus in chandelier-lit dining rooms, when it comes to food, the Thai capital practices equal devotion at every hour and every price point. What makes Bangkok stand out is its fearlessness to borrow, reinterpret and create something entirely its own. It is a city whose culinary identity is equal parts local and global—true borderless cuisine. It is also home to one of Asia’s most celebrated gatherings of culinary talent.

From 29 September to 4 October 2026, the World Gourmet Festival returns to its long-held home at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, gathering an international constellation of chefs for its 26th edition under this year’s theme, “The World of Flavours.” Where last year’s edition, “Beyond Taste and Time”, turned its gaze inward toward memory and legacy, 2026 looks outward, gesturing toward pluralism of technique, cultural influence and ingredient provenance that positions Bangkok as a crossroads of cuisine.

Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel is undergoing a $50 Million-dollar transformation

Held across the hotel’s dining outlets, the 2026 programme will feature exclusive dining events led by globally acclaimed chefs, multi-chef collaborative tasting menus, interactive chef activations, curated afternoon tea experiences, bar takeovers and collaborations, panel discussions with industry leaders, and a closing weekend brunch. Anantara Siam Bangkok’s own chefs will be woven throughout select experiences, grounding the international programme in the property’s own culinary identity. 2025 brought together nearly 30 Michelin stars, welcoming celebrated names including Eric Vildgaard, Dave Pynt, and Vaughan Mabee alongside Bangkok’s most acclaimed names like Chef Ton and Chef Pam.

The First Chefs Are In

The first chef confirmations for World Gourmet Festival 2026 bring together talents from across the globe. Álvaro Clavijo of El Chato in Bogotá, ranked No. 1 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, draws his cuisine from Colombia’s extraordinary biodiversity and close collaboration with indigenous communities and producers. Josiah Citrin of two-Michelin-starred Mélisse brings Californian luxury dining from Santa Monica to Bangkok, while perhaps the most familiar name on the roster so far is Julien Royer of Singapore’s three-Michelin-starred Odette, his refined French cuisine refracted through an Asian sensibility that has made it one of the region’s most celebrated addresses. This marks the first chef reveal for 2026, with additional names, collaborations and experiences to be announced soon.

Looking Towards the Future

New to the 2026 edition is the Young Chef’s Award, a competition introduced for the first time at the World Gourmet Festival, inviting emerging local talent to present their work before a panel of local and international judges. It is a welcome addition that suggests the festival is thinking beyond the marquee names toward the next generation shaping Thai and regional cuisine.
