From the 14th to the 16th, as the sun dips behind the city skyline, a glittering cultural gathering will unfold: Armenian Street Party: Peranakan Stars, a vibrant tribute to the richness, resilience, and radiance of Peranakan heritage.

Anchored by the Peranakan Museum and presented in partnership with the Peranakan Association Singapore, the Arab Network @ Singapore, the Peranakan Indian (Chitty Melaka) Association Singapore, and Mediacorp, this street party promises to be more than just a festivity. It is a confluence of identity and expression—a celebration of a culture that has long danced between the lines of hybridity and heritage.

Stars of the Screen: Emerald Hill Takeover

14-16 March 2025, 5pm – 10pm

At the heart of this year’s festivities lies a much-anticipated highlight: the Emerald Hill Takeover. Cast members from Mediacorp’s latest series Emerald Hill will make special appearances, bringing with them not just star power but narratives that echo the intricacies of Peranakan life. Fans can expect intimate glimpses of the culture into the through interactive activities, while soaking in the atmosphere of the very culture it portrays.

Enduring blessings by Ashley Yeo

14-31 March 2025, 5pm – 10pm

At the event, artist Ashley Yeo will present Enduring Blessings, an installation that reimagines Peranakan art through a contemporary lens. Drawing inspiration from the auspicious motifs that grace vintage textiles and ornate furniture, Yeo’s work invites visitors into a world where art becomes an act of cultural remembrance—and a quiet resistance against forgetting.

Nasi Ulam with Chef Damian D’Silva

15 March, 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Food, of course, lies at the heart of the Peranakan identity. On this hour, imagine a courtyard will fill with the scent of torch ginger and wild herbs as Chef Damian D’Silva—MasterChef Singapore judge and culinary custodian—prepares nasi ulam. This humble yet complex herb rice dish is a sensory journey: deeply aromatic, layered with cultural memory, and lovingly resurrected in a live cooking demonstration that promises both flavour and storytelling.

The Peranakan Pasar Returns!

14-16 March, 5pm – 10pm

Of course, no celebration would be complete without food and finery. The Peranakan Pasar will offer an open-air market brimming with culinary treasures and artisan crafts. Expect handmade kueh, heritage-inspired fashion, beaded accessories, and the signature spices that have made Peranakan cuisine a regional treasure. Each stall tells a story, each flavour a thread in the larger cultural tapestry.

Street Challenge: Learn Baba Malay with Baba Gabra

From 14 to 16 March, look out for the spirited team behind Baba Gabra—a non-profit organisation founded by four young babas passionate about keeping Baba Malay alive. Their Street Challenge invites passers-by into a flashcard game that’s part language lesson, part joyous mischief. It’s a reminder that even endangered tongues can find new life—especially when shared through laughter.

Party like a Peranakan Star

With the Party like a Peranakan Star segment, visitors are invited to experience the dynamic charm of Peranakan performing arts—from traditional musical ensembles to dances under the stars. A Star Makeover by Raymond Wong

If you’ve ever dreamt of stepping into the shoes of a Peranakan icon, now’s your chance. The Star Makeover with Raymond Wong, a renowned kebaya maker, invites guests to don the kebaya and batik sarong, transforming the museum’s lobby into a sartorial salon. With costume rentals available, you can stroll through the party not as a bystander, but as part of the spectacle—camera-ready and radiant.
